Internships

Applications for this program are no longer being accepted.

The internship program is a wonderful way for college students and dancers who desire administrative experience to gain practical knowledge in a specific field of study.

Each intern works under the direct supervision of a knowledgeable department head, who take the time to teach, mentor and guide the intern during the process. Interns are needed in the following fields: Programs, Development, Research, Archives, Marketing, Film, Photography, Production, Bookkeeping and Accounting, Performances & Events. Internships can be conducted in exchange for academic credit with the permission of your educational institution. Internships are unpaid, but under certain circumstances interns may be eligible to receive a travel/food stipend and discounted NDG classes.

Testimonials

"The Marketing Internship at New Dance Group has taught me that to be a truly successful dancer, one has to know what makes a successful dance world."

~ Beth Liebowitz, University of Massachusetts dance student

"Interning at NDG allowed me to take my talents and skills as a videographer to a small non-profit organization specializing in the arts.  I was given complete creative freedom and made  promotional videos, pulling from a large library of archived dance concerts.  Also, taking advantage of the facility's reputation as a great dance studio, I found my respect and skill for the craft grow tremendously as I took classes in a wide range of dance styles.  All in all, I recommend NDG to any filmmaker interested in interning, due to its relaxed atmosphere, great dance classes, and wonderful staff."

~ Will Caballero, 2008 graduate of NYU (MFA, Film)

"The marketing internship at NDG was an incredible hand on experience within an organization that respects diversity and nourishes talent.   As an intern, I worked on projects that helped me to understand the essentials of marketing, which helped me to grow within my field."

~ Shadi Ahmed, 2008 graduate of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

"My internship at New Dance Group gave me hands-on experience in both the world of dance and in a nonprofit organization. As an intern, I researched ways to better market the organization using my experience in computer science.  In addition, I provided a helping hand with financial development and researching fundraising opportunities. It was a great way to learn about the inner workings of a non-profit organization and to pursue my love of dance."

~ Alex Rodabaugh, Vassar student
