Workstudy Program

The Workstudy Program allows participants to learn about the many intricate aspects of nonprofit administration.

Workstudy Participants have the opportunity to gain practical knowledge of performance production as well as the operation of running a performing arts center. In exchange for their work, Workstudy Participants receive benefits such as classes (at a rate of only $3 each), discounts on studio rentals and NDG event tickets, performance, production and teaching opportunities. Qualified students at every level, from novice to professional, are eligible. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and there is no audition. Applicants must make a commitment to the Workstudy Program of at least three (3) months must be available to work a minimum of four (4) hours per week and at least one (1) weekend per month. Ideal Workstudy

The Ideal Workstudy is an award given out monthly to the Workstudy participant.  The Workstudy Manager and Front Desk Managers choose a participant who arrives on time for shifts, does not miss shifts or finds a replacement if needed, is knowledgeable about NDG's programs and services and who is courteous, friendly, considerate, willing to help and eager to learn.  The winner receives a special prize.

NDG Workstudy Participants are involved!

In addition to their duties in the Workstudy Program, the participants can be involved in other aspects of NDG.  We are proud to highlight their talents!

• Need a translator?  Many of our Workstudies are bilingual. 
• All of the models sporting NDG tanks and tees on our website are Workstudies,  as are many of the participants in the photo shoot of the NDG studios.  Thank you Matt, Tara, Noemy, Steve, Alicia, Brian and Courtney for posing for the camera!
• Susannah, a grad student studying Dance Education, became the Assistant for the Educational Programs Department.
• Matt Ruiz is now teaching Salsa and Susan Foley is now teaching Pilates at NDG.
• Many of the photos on our website and print materials are from Cathryn Lynne Photography.  Cathryn puts her knowledge of dance to good use when taking Open Teacher Forum photos!
• Several of our Evening Managers are former Workstudies who were promoted due to their superior work habits and dedication to NDG.
• Noemy Hernandez recently presented a dance piece that she choreographed in The Exchange. 
• Robin Gordon make her choroegraphic debut during the November Exchange.
