Ballroom Latin

This class will incorporate the hottest latin dances of today including Salsa, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Swing, Tango, Mambo, and Jive. It is one of the top forms of exercise known for its ability to strengthen and tone the entire body through ‘Cuban Motion’, a technique originating within the core and gradually involving the hips, knees, shoulders, and ribs. It will also help sharpen the student’s sense of rhythm, muscular control, balance, and agility while he or she enjoys the infectious rhythms of Latin and Popular music. No partners are necessary as we will work both solo and with a variety of partners to learn leading and following techniques, musicality and styling, and various step patterns. All levels welcome!

"I just wanted to say THANK GOD FOR YOUR DANCE STUDIO.  I have been looking for a dance studios with a great atmosphere (with love) and professional dance training for some time now...and I found it!  NDG!  I took my first classes yesterday...I also had a fun time with Jason at Latin Ballroom!  I can't wait to come back."

Voice

This class is open to all levels of experience. Those seeking guidance in pop, musical theater, classical and jazz genres will find this solid technique approach very helpful in producing an easy yet strong vocal sound. Breathing exercises and vocalizes will be used to improve each individual’s strength and endurance, vocal range, musicality, and freedom of tone. Our goal is to rid the voice and body of any unnecessary tensions and reveal your own voice in a healthy, natural way.  Students who are dancers will also learn how to keep a good vocal production in balance without jeopardizing their own techniques on the dance floor.  A light physical warm up will be followed by a series of warm-ups and exercises and, time permiting, song excepts from various works.

Notebook and pen are suggested as many exercises and practice/performance tips will be given.
