Biography & Class Description

Germaine Goodson was last seen on Broadway in Play On and as a featured dancer in Black and Blue.  She performed Off-Broadway with The Rhythm Queens, which was created by Mr. Harry Le Tang and starred Harold Nicholas.  The Rhythm Queens were also the opening act for the legendary Mr. Cab Calloway.  In addition to teaching at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway, Germaine teaches Master Classes in Tap and Jazz for universities, dance studios, tap companies and private classes, both internationally and in the United States.  She has choreographed for the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and in 2003, she went to Oslo, Norway and taught Master Tap classes at the Norweigian College of Dance.  She also had the honor of teaching and choreographing at St. Cyprien Stage de Danse in the south of France with the legendary Jazz Dance Master, Mr. Matt Mattox.

Students eagerly respond to her style, which is a cross between Astaire and Le Tang.  She executes energetic flash and intricate footwork with effortless precision.  Germaine continues to encourage her students to reach their goals of becoming great dancers, and believes that faith, hope and love continue to guide her to her successes and accomplishments.

Tap

These are high energy tap classes structured around the center of the floor technique, rhythm sequences, progressions that travel across the floor and choreography. Emphasis is placed on performance skills and Broadway Tap and Hoofer styles. Ms. Goodson’s classes are a cross between Astaire and Le Tang.
